"Sometime, We Just Need a Sign!" | Part 1

What does it look like to trust God when the path forward seems completely blocked? That is the heart of what we explore in this message drawn from Joshua chapter 4. The children of Israel had waited 400 years in Egyptian captivity, then wandered 40 years through the wilderness, and just when the promised land was within reach, they found themselves standing before a flooded, impassable Jordan River. It would have been easy to see that moment as abandonment. But God had not forgotten them. He had a plan that required something more than following. He required trust. The stones pulled from the middle of the Jordan were not just rocks. They were signs, memorials set in place so that future generations would ask, what do these stones mean, and the story of God's faithfulness would be told again. We all need those kinds of reminders, because one of the most honest struggles of the faith journey is how quickly we forget what God has already done. This message calls us to look back at the Red Sea moments in our own lives, the times God came through in ways that defied explanation, and let those memories anchor us when we are standing at a flooded river of our own.
